Course: Presentation techniques and oral rhetoric
Do you want to give sharper, more convincing presentations? Do you want to communicate your message more clearly—using a strong structure, engaging PowerPoint slides, and confident body language? Do you want to ensure that your message lands with your audience and follows a clear common thread from start to finish?
Then one of Rhetorica’s courses in presentation techniques and oral rhetoric is exactly what you need.
Tailored to your needs and objectives, the course is built on research‑based tools and informed by our experience and insights from hundreds of previous courses. The level can be adjusted to suit participants with varying levels of experience—ranging from those new to presentation techniques to those who have attended similar courses before.
Among our clients for our courses in oral rhetoric and presentation techniques are:
- Many agencies and ministries
- Large and medium-sized Danish companies
- Universities, PhD schools and research organizations
- International organizations (where teaching is in English)
- Companies that want online training.
We guarantee:
- That we deliver a course that provides research-based tools and exercises in them.
- That what you have learnt can be applied in your work from the day after the course.
- That even though it is research-based, the course offers surprisingly few dry textbooks and dusty compendia and quite a lot of laughs and good energy. Fun and interesting should go hand-in-hand with research-based and academically sound.
Among the topics covered in the courses are typically:
- Creating relevant and interesting presentations
- To impact the recipient so that they remember, feel and do what is intended after the presentation
- Building a good common thread and structure
- Building credibility from the first sentence
- Choosing words that leave the right traces in the memory and give the right feeling in the stomach
- Building PowerPoints that support the presenter, so that it's not the presenter that supports the PowerPoints.
- To have body language that is at once effective, natural and convincing.
And we are happy to combine it with research-based tools and exercises within storytelling, leadership communication or other topics you want to have woven in.
Form and course
Overall, we work with the following format:
- A mix of theory, discussions and exercises – often based on the participants' own cases, so that they solve tasks while they learn.
- Learning is important – and knowing a theory or model is not the same as mastering it. That's why our tools are research-based and are trained with participants so that they have applied them in practise.
- We often video record the participants along the way, so they can see for themselves what they are doing well and where they need to change – and so they can see for themselves how they are developing along the way (it can be difficult to notice for yourself that you are actually doing things differently and that it is working if you don't also see yourself from the outside with video)
- We offer extra reading material before, during and after the course, if you wish. So that learning can be optimised and we can get the most out of the lessons
Why Rhetorica
We combine academic credibility with practical impact. Everything we teach is rooted in peer‑reviewed university research — and designed so you can use it immediately.
Research-driven based – All our content is built on solid academic evidence, not not trends or opinions
Evidence-based methods – We use scientifically proven teaching and communication methods that deliver real results.
Research into practise – Theory becomes hands‑on tools you can apply the same day
Credible & Rigorous – Academic depth and credibility, delivered in a clear and practical way.
Preparation
We put a lot of effort into preparation, as it is our experience that the most important criterion for success is that all expectations regarding content, form and pace are aligned both before and during a course. Therefore, it is also important that we know the participants’ everyday lives and work tasks before the course, so that we ensure that we know the participants’ prerequisites and know how we can best give them the benefit of the course.
Calculator
Use our calculator to estimate the price of our courses. Please note that the price is indicative and is influenced by, among other things, whether a senior or manager consultant is required for the assignment and the amount of prior customisation. Placing an order is not finally binding until we have had a subsequent dialogue about the content and dates for the course.
