Why choose tailored in-house training?

Trainer explaining at a flip chart during a course

Open courses offer general tools. In-house training gives you tools that fit your everyday work. At Rhetorica participants work on their own presentations, meetings and decision papers – so they solve real tasks while they learn. When a whole team or leadership group trains together, you also gain a shared language for good communication, which makes it easier to give each other feedback afterwards.

How a course works

  1. Initial meeting (free) – We map your goals, your participants and the communication situations that matter most.
  2. Tailoring – We design the course around your cases, templates and organisational culture. We often speak with a few participants beforehand.
  3. Training days – A mix of short presentations, exercises, video training and individual feedback. We always work with participants’ own tasks.
  4. Follow-up – Evaluation, a follow-up exercise that embeds the learning and recommendations for how to keep building on it.

We can typically run the course within a few weeks of the initial meeting – anywhere in Denmark or abroad.

Our courses

All courses can be combined and tailored.

For individuals: If one leader or specialist needs to sharpen their skills, we also offer individual programs with six training sessions tailored to their situation.

Selected cases

Leaders in discussion during a Rhetorica workshop

Nykredit – a leadership academy for 300 senior leaders

Nykredit had formulated a narrative with six promises that needed to come alive across the organisation. At a leadership academy we trained more than 300 leaders in leadership communication, storytelling, impact and credibility. Result: every leader has their own version of the narrative, adapted to their area of responsibility, and can deliver it with credibility.

VELUX – shorter decision papers, better decisions

VELUX’s project managers were writing 20–30-page decision papers for executive management’s stage-gate meetings. We trained them to put the most important point first, use data as argument and answer critical questions persuasively. Result: shorter decision papers, more effective meetings and project managers who step up.

Danish Veterinary and Food Administration – fewer, better meetings

After a restructure the agency had to deliver its work with fewer resources. We mapped the meeting culture with a survey and developed meeting leadership tools that the departments embedded through workshops. Result: more effective meetings – in many places in less time than before.

Danske Bank – difficult messages that land

Group Internal Audit needed to deliver ‘red reports’ while building trust. On a two-day course with participants from ten countries we trained storytelling, handling resistance and difficult meetings. Result: a shared language and greater trust in the department’s role as both adviser and auditor.

What our clients say

The program at Rhetorica is the most directly applicable course I've ever attended. I was able to go home and implement what I'd learned the very same day, and I've seen the positive impact of giving better speeches, running better meetings and generally becoming sharper and more aware of my communication.

Frequently asked questions about communication training

What do you learn on a rhetoric or communication course?

You learn to communicate clearly and persuasively – to structure a message, adapt it to your audience, argue credibly and use your body and voice. At Rhetorica participants practise on their own presentations, meetings and documents.

How much does communication training cost?

Tailored in-house training with Rhetorica costs from DKK 24,500 per training day excl. VAT for up to 15 participants. The price depends on the length of the course, the degree of tailoring and whether individual feedback or follow-up is included.

Can the course be held at our premises?

Yes. Most of our courses are held at the client’s premises – anywhere in Denmark or abroad. We can also run the course in Copenhagen or online.

How soon can you run a course?

Typically within a few weeks of the initial meeting.

Who are the trainers?

All our trainers hold a master’s degree in rhetoric combined with teaching experience and business experience.

Do you run open courses that individuals can sign up for?

No, we only run tailored in-house courses. If a single employee needs training, we offer individual programs.

How long does a course take?

Typically 1–3 days. We often recommend splitting the course, for example 2+1 days, so participants can try out the tools in their everyday work between training days.

Can the course be run in English?

Yes. We teach in both English and Danish and have experience with international groups.

What does research-based training mean?

Our tools are based on research in rhetoric, argumentation, behaviour and learning – not on trends or personal opinions. That means the methods are documented and participants learn why they work.
